Yesterday:    

Wood County Hospital opened in 1951, thanks to a major contribution from Fred Uhlman, Sr., and many individuals in the community.  All who donated saw the need for local, quality medical care.

Our philanthropic-minded community continued to contribute to the Hospital's success through bequests and other gift vehicles.  Philanthropy in the Wood County Community is a major building block of Wood County Hospital.

Wood County Hospital Foundation was established in 1987 to help secure a legacy of excellent medical care for our community.  Through a generous gift from Ruth and Rhea Keil, the Foundation was born and today it strives to keep stride with ever-changing technologies and innovations.

Today:                 

Wood County Hospital Foundation recognizes the need for a state-of-the-art hospital.  Private support provides the need for medical equipment purchases, patient care programs and capital improvement projects, all with one goal in mind: to provide outstanding health care to our community.  As the third largest employer in the County, the Hospital's commitment to this area remains strong.  With over 700 individuals employed, the Hospital is proud to be a valuable resource ready to serve our community.

When you walk through the doors of Wood County Hospital, you can be assured that you have access to highly skilled physicians, healthcare professionals and state-of-the-art technologies that are available today.

We believe the strength of the community lies in having excellent healthcare close to home, with neighbors caring for neighbors.

Tomorrow:    

The need for community support has never been greater.  Only through the financial investment of committed donors can Wood County Hospital provide excellent, leading-edge medical care in a warm and healing environment.

Future expansion of the hospital campus will allow for and require that we all come together to ensure our community is offered the finest in modern healthcare facilities.
